The curriculum is enriched with frequent local, and residential trips as well as an overseas educational visit, closely tied to the curriculum. The study of a modern foreign language is compulsory. Children study Mandarin from Reception, with French offered as an option from Year 3. Both languages are taught through a spiralling, sequential and communicative approach. The content is theme-based, age appropriate, expansive and practical.

The Chinese language surrounds us in Hong Kong and is considered to be a language of the future. Its importance, economically as well as socially, is rapidly increasing. Chinese is taught as a modern foreign language based on the English National Curriculum Modern Foreign Language Programme.
