For the later Preparatory and Senior years, applicants will need to complete an assessment, prior to an offer of a place. This is to ensure that the applicant’s needs can be met within a mainstream school setting, and that the applicant’s academic needs will be met in an age appropriate class.

On occasion, children may be placed in the class one year below that dictated by their chronological age. This is at the discretion of the Principal. Children will not be put in a class above their chronological age.

Children for whom English is an additional language (“EAL”): Kellett enrols a small number of children whose English is not completely fluent. Such children will be assessed to ensure that their needs can be met before a place is offered. Kellett does not usually offer EAL places to Year 4-6 applicants.   Additional language support may be provided at cost.

For students with Special and Specific needs, please refer to our Admissions Policy.
