Students follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which is a UK-based, holistic approach to child development encompassing, Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Understanding of the World, Literacy, Mathematics and Expressive Arts and Design.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum in which all children can flourish. Our curriculum gives children the knowledge and skills they need to make good progress throughout their school life and beyond. We understand that play is a crucial part of learning and this is at the heart of our curriculum. We believe that a balance of adult-led and uninterrupted child-initiated play ensures the best outcome for our students.
Seven areas of learning:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design

As the Reception year progresses, the learning starts to become more formal in preparation for Year One. We endeavour to do this by following a systematic phonics programme and by enriching the EYFS curriculum through topics such as 'I wonder how maps help us?', 'I wonder if all bears are the same?' and 'I wonder what happens when I am asleep?' Our students develop strong reading, writing and numeracy skills and enjoy regular visits to the school library.
The adventure in learning is further enriched by specialist lessons in Music, PE and Mandarin. We welcome visitors to the school including authors, artists, scientists and explorers.
We understand the importance of parental engagement and believe that our parents have a crucial role to play in their children’s education. We work hard to create strong partnerships between home and school and send regular updates of children’s progress via our digital platform Seesaw.
