Student wellbeing is prioritised and we offer high levels of personalised care with time built into the timetable to allow for individual sessions with tutors, teachers and guidance counsellors.
I really enjoyed my time here. Kellett's the best thing that ever happened to me!

Welcome to Kellett Sixth Form
The transition from Year 11 to Sixth Form is an exciting one, but can be daunting for students, as they are entrusted with more responsibility, freedom and of course A-Levels.
Kellett Sixth Form students achieve fantastic public examination results as mature, globally-minded individuals with an appreciation of other cultures, ideas and beliefs. After their time with us, many students go on to attend leading universities around the world.
We prioritise student wellbeing and offer the highest levels of personalised care with time built into the timetable to allow for individual sessions with tutors, teachers and guidance counsellors. At Kellett the Sixth Form is designed to support an individual’s personal development, enabling them to make a real difference in whatever field they choose and whatever path they take.
Kellett Sixth Form experience has been carefully planned to meet the needs of the 21st Century and the entry requirements of universities and colleges worldwide. Students will engage in a rigorous academic programme, of 3 or 4 A-Levels supported by our Kellett Core programme which includes Positively Kellett (PK), Critical Perspectives, Games/Sports, LAMDA, EPQ, Mini-MBA (in association with IE Business School) and SAT Prep classes. The A-Level Programme and Kellett Core help students develop attractive academic and personal profiles in preparation for the next stage of their education.
We offer 23 A-level subjects including English Literature, Mathematics, a range of Humanities and Languages, all the Sciences including Psychology and PE, as well as a creative suite of subjects including Art, Design Technology, Music, Media Studies and Drama. Many students also undertake the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) which is worth half an A-level where they can focus on an area of study that fascinates them. They can either write a dissertation or produce an artefact, performance or carry out academic investigations. Past projects have included the writing of a dissertation on assisted dying, the design and manufacture of an electric guitar, the creation and performance of an absurdist play and the planning and hosting of a formal event in aid of breast cancer.
A-level class sizes are small, the largest in the Class of 2024 was 13, allowing our highly qualified and experienced teachers to focus on the needs of each student. Every member of the Sixth Form team is a member of the International Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) and the International Schools Counseling Association (ISCA) as well having completed The Times Higher Education Counsellor
In order to ensure that students can successfully access the taught curriculum, we have a minimum expectation of prior attainment. All students applying to the school will be interviewed by the Head of Sixth Form and a member of the Sixth Form Team and will take a series of entrance tests. Please see the Admissions Policy for detailed entrance requirements.
Students who are joining the Sixth Form from Kellett Senior School will begin the induction process in Positively Kellett lessons starting in Year 9, when making their options choices for I/GCSE. Students and parents can meet a member of the Sixth Form team to discuss how these options can impact upon A-level and university choices (this is particularly important for potential applicants to the US and mainland Europe). Students will continue to work with the team throughout Years 10 and 11 in PK. This work involves psychometric testing provided through both Unifrog and Morrisby and a work experience week in Year 10. At the start of Year 11 students meet with Kellett's Careers Advisor to discuss what they learned about their potential future pathway in Year 10 ahead of their A-level options interviews in November of Year 11 with the Head of Sixth Form. Here they discuss A-Level option choices and any questions they may have about the Sixth Form and preparations for Sixth Form life.
Students who join the Sixth Form in Year 12 will be invited to interview to discuss options and future career plans. All new students joining the Kellett Sixth Form will have access to Morrisby and Unifrog Careers profiling, the Kellett Careers Advisor and their own work experience week in October of Year 12.
Friendships and teamwork are important in the forming of a successful Sixth Form. All incoming students will be invited to attend an informal transition day in June. During this event students will meet some members of the current student body, including Head Students. To help the students to get ready for the academic demands of the Sixth Form, all students will be provided with summer work. This will comprise of open ended tasks which will not be graded, but give the individual a chance to explore their subjects in a creative and exciting manner. The work should take approximately four hours per subject and will be expected to be returned during the first lessons of the new academic year. Information will be emailed to incoming students who are not able to attend induction day.
Every student has daily contact with an academic and personal form tutor and is also a part of the Kellett House System which offers access to a wide variety of extra-curricular activities in a supportive yet competitive environment that generates a real sense of school spirit and community. The tutor team is led by the Head of Sixth Form, supported by the Heads of Year 12 and 13. The team is further supported by our two University and Careers Guidance Counsellors, plus a Sixth Form administrator.
Small classes and a low student-to-teacher ratio, coupled with exciting and engaging teaching, help our students reach their academic potential.

Further Information
Robust and supportive pastoral care remains just as important in the Sixth Form as it does lower down the school. Meanwhile, Positively Kellett assists our students in preparing to take their places in society equipped with a robust emotional skill set so that they may continue to flourish and lead rich rewarding lives.
Sixth Form students meet with their tutor daily as a group and for at least three one-to-ones during each half-term. The tutor is responsible for supporting students through all aspects of school life and is the first point of contact for parents. All tutors have a wide network of support available including the Head of Sixth Form, Heads of Year 12 and Year 13, the University and Careers Guidance Counsellor as well as the school’s Inclusion and Wellbeing teams.
Sixth Form Students also take part in and often lead the 'Feel Good Fridays' programme which helps to give students a moment of respite from their academic and extracurricular commitments, and encourages them to relax, destress and unwind in preparation for the weekend.
After your time at Kellett, we hope your relationship with us continues for life. The Kellett community spirit is strong and extends well beyond Hong Kong’s borders and the years that individuals spend at the school. More information can be found in OK For Life. Please join the Kellett’s alumni community at alumni.kellettschool.com.
Applications are accepted two years prior to entry. In order to ensure that students can successfully access the curriculum we have a minimum expectation of prior attainment. This includes a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade B/6 or above including Mathematics and English. Students not achieving a C in English and Mathematics will need to resit in Year 12 and must pass before entering Year 13. The School also looks for at least a Grade B/6 in subjects to be studied at A level (with the exception of Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Chinese, French, Physics and Spanish which requires an A/7). Students in Sixth Form take three A-Levels as the default, requests for a four A-Level programme must be approved by the Deputy Head Academic and the Head of Sixth Form.
