Paul Tough, currently Principal at The British School in Tokyo (“BST”), Japan, will join Kellett as Principal and CEO in April 2024.  Prior to his post in Japan, Mr Tough was the Principal at Discovery Bay International School (DBIS) in Hong Kong, an independent not-for-profit school similar to Kellett in ethos and educational philosophy, which also follows the English curriculum.

Rebecca Findlay, currently Head of Primary at The International School, Kuala Lumpur will join Kellett in Summer 2024.  Ms Findlay is also a Council of British International Schools (COBIS) Peer Accreditor, and prior to her time in Malaysia, was Deputy Head Teacher at The British School in the Netherlands.

Chair of the Board, Dr Silvia Pezzini, commented, “We very much look forward to welcoming Paul Tough and Rebecca Findlay to Kellett, and have every confidence they will further cement the School’s position as one of the leading British International Schools in the world, whilst ensuring each and every student develops a love of learning and confidence for life.”

"On behalf of the Board I would again like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Mark Steed and Samantha Steed for their contribution to transforming the school, creating a robust management structure, driving educational rigour and delivering an outstanding BSO report, and wish them the very best on their return to the UK."

Given the commencement dates of the new appointments, Diana Vernon, Kellett’s recently appointed Educational Advisor, will step in as Interim Principal & CEO from August 2023 to April 2024, during which period she will step down from the Kellett Board.  Diana was Principal of Methodist Ladies’ College in Melbourne, one of Australia’s leading schools, for 9 years until December 2022, and prior to that Headmistress at City of London School for Girls, one of the UK’s leading independent schools.
